Nik Syahron > Night sky in front of Palau Nacional. See if you can identify the constellations and the stars. Let me help... Bottom right corner, between the two pillars, is Constellation Orion. You can see clearly the three stars in a straight line. You can also see a smudge right at the bottom border of the pic which the Orion Nebula. From Orion if you go straight up, lies the star Aldebaran. To the left of it is the planet Mars, shining brightly. Just above Mars is the double star Elnath and the bright star on top left corner is Capella. If you move to the right of Capella horizontally you'll see another smudge, this time it's the Pleiades, another bright naked eye Messier object.
Nik Syahron > Leo Triplet Widefield NGC3628, the edge on spiral galaxy on the top. Flanking it are M65 (right) and M66 (left), both elliptical galaxies. Taken in early February 2008 using Canon 350D + William Optics 66SD on Nexstar 6SE mount.
